Govinda Hela, which was sheltered by the king and his army during the reign of King Buwanekabahu, is located just off the 9th mile post on Ampara Road. Govinda Hela has a history of thousands of years. Going up the stone, you can see stone pillars that collapsed on either side of the road. The highlight of the trip is the pond that appears after climbing the rock. The pond, which is about 5 feet deep, will not sit even during the drought.
