One of the most beautiful mountain ranges in the Kandy district. It is separated from the tributaries of the Mahaweli River and extends up to 1240 m above sea level. This is a catchment area of the Mahaweli River. The tributaries such as Garadi Oya, Maha Oya, Golla Oya, Orange Oya and Kuda Oya flows through the mountains. The Hanthana Range belongs to the Central Wet Zone in the central highlands, with an annual rainfall of about 2,000 mm throughout the year. So the temperature is between 23 and 25 degrees Celsius.
